I really enjoyed university! It was a little scary at the beginning living away from home for the first time, but then I made new friends and settled in.
It’s a good way of meeting lots of different people and trying new things as there are clubs and societies you can join for free or really cheaply. For example I tried ice hockey, surfing, baking club and it’s where I started jujistu which I still do and enjoy. Student life is really fun.
Other than that, study-wise I was not great at school, but at university I had some really great mentors and tutors who encouraged me and helped make me into the scientist I am today.
I found it a lot easier than studying for my A-levels as I could choose where and when I studied, and I could focus more on the things I liked learning about.
So overall I would recommend it 🙂
