I enjoy science because you’re learning new things all the time. Sometimes these things are new to just you, or sometimes they’re new to all of humanity! The best part is sharing these things you’ve learnt with others. Talking about science with young people can be inspiring for them, making you as the scientist really happy when it works.

It’s a challenge and it keeps me interested, plus I’m always learning so I never feel like I’m getting stuck in one role doing just one thing

Mostly because it’s really cool! I get to work with really interesting devices and experiments, and help people do useful and important work. I get to use our supercomputer whenever I want, and I work next to 2 particle accelerators and a giant laser facility. I wake up most days excited to go to work 🙂
