So many things! I’ve learnt a lot about reactions in nuclear physics and how we produce radioactive isotopes and detect radiation. I’ve also learnt a lot about the human body and how cancer which is interesting because I hadn’t studied any biology since GCSE. I have also learnt loads of new skills like writing code and running different software and even things like speaking in public and explaining things clearly to a range of different people.
I’ve learned to admit that I don’t know things, and to not mind looking a bit stupid. I’ve found that if I don’t understand something, then… let’s say 4/5 other people in the room who looked totally happy with it, also didn’t really get it. Finding a nice way to say that you don’t get it is the most important step to fixing that situation and making something good happen — far, *far* better than digging in because of fear of looking silly. And yes, sometimes I really am just a bit dozy 😉
