I worked at Sellafield, which is next to the old Windscale nuclear power plant, although Sellafield actually deals with reprocessing of used nuclear fuels and treating them for disposal. I’ve also visited Heysham power plant near Lancaster. They’re both huge places!

I haven’t. It would be interesting to see one

I work at a nuclear fusion plant. It’s not used to make electricity for the public yet but instead it is used for experiments so that we can get fully functional fusion power plants in the future.

I once tried to go to Heysham power plant on a trip with my university, but they didn’t let me in since I didn’t have a passport with me 🙁
(I only had my French national ID card)

No, I’d like to visit one. I’ve visited many labs with “nuclear” in the name, but usually the sort that don’t have anything really dangerous inside: about half of them have just let me walk through the gate without even checking my ID!

No I haven’t actually! Which is weird as I spend most of my work day thinking about them. Perhaps I should… My friend works at Sellafield so maybe I’ll ask for a tour. I hear they have a radioactive pool. (Not for swimming in)
