I think its much easier to get inspired by someone when you know feel you know them a bit. Right now, my supervisor inspires me all the time. She’s founded a program called Physics Without Frontiers https://www.ictp.it/physics-without-frontiers.aspx. The program aims to inspire, train and motivate physics students worldwide, especially in developing countries. Some of the things she’s done and continues to do are amazing.

I get to work with loads of amazing scientists who are so passionate and enthusiastic about what they do so it’s quite easy to be inspired by them.

No one person… it should probably be my family or something, but for work stuff it’s just the general collection of bright, hard-working people in my field who are forever doing impressive things that make me think “argh, I should be doing that, too!” FOMO, but for science nerds

When I was younger it was reading about scientists from history and the news and the amazing things they did.
Now I actually get to work with loads of excellent scientists who are really intelligent in addition to being lovely people. They are working all over the place, one of my friends designs cameras that get put in satellites and launched into space, another one is a mechanical engineer working on a massive laser. They inspire me to work harder and do great science!
